In collaboration with the Andratx City Hall, the project focused on the landscape restoration of an old farmstead, transforming the space into a park for the citizens. The project is situated in a transition zone between urban development and rural wetland, highly preserved for environmental reasons. The site features 19th-century hydraulic constructions originally built to manage water flow for irrigation. The project aimed to conserve these systems while restoring the natural landscape. We promoted the growth of native wetland plants, employing ecological methods to control invasive species and foster a balanced ecosystem. Pathways, viewpoints, and rest areas were created for visitors to enjoy the landscape. Additionally, we engaged the local community through small cultivation spaces, encouraging active participation in the site's sustainability.
